The Arsenal Paper Round: Tuesday June 29, 2010

And so the inquest begins into how England were knocked out of the World Cup and if this group of players can't do it, who can?

Well according to most of the nationals, at Arsenal Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere are the names most of the journalists are talking about.
Those two and the man Capello left out of his final squad, Theo Walcott.

Interesting times ahead for the national team.

And on to Arsenal, with one more transfer saga nearly completed. This time it's Laurent Koscielny who The Sun say will sign for £8.5m.

He's 24 and will sign a four year contract worth a tidy £25,000 a week.

A good bit of business if Arsene has identified him in the same mould as Thomas Vermaelen rather than Igors Stepanovs.

I still expect us to sign another defender. Because even if Koscielny does sign, that will leave us still with only three recognised central defenders.

I'd also imagine Arsene will sign Sol Campbell on a one year deal.

The only other Arsenal related story doing the rounds is that Joe Cole if off on holiday according to the Daily Mirror.

He's set to decide his future over the next two weeks and Harry Redknapp has asked his chairman to put together a deal to bring Cole to White Hart Lane.

The same story says that Eduardo and Tomas Rosicky are available at the right price.

And that's about it. If there is anything to talk about throughout the day, find me talking about it on Twitter.
