Arsenal face Eduardo's Shakhtar in Champions League group stages

Arsenal will welcome Eduardo back to the Grove as his new side Shakhtar Donetsk were pulled out of the Champions League draw to face the Gunners in Group H.

There will also be a visit to Portugal to play Sporting Brage.

Making up the group will be Partizan Belgrade.

So the draw for Group H is: Arsenal, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sporting Brage, Partizan Belgrade

The other groups are:

Group A: Inter Milan, Werder Bremen, Tottenham, FC Twente

Group B: Olympique Lyonnais, Benfica, Schalke 04, Hapoel Tel-Aviv

Group C: Manchester United, Valencia, Rangers, Bursaspor

Group D: Barcelona, Panathinaikos, FC Copenhagen, Rubin Kazan

Group E: Bayern Munich, Roma, FC Basel, CFR Cluj

Group F: Chelsea, Marseille, Spartak Moscow, Zilina

Group G: AC Milan, Real Madrid, Ajax, Auxerre

UPDATE: Arsenal will play their first group game on Wednesday September 15. We play our games on the same night as Chelsea.

  2. The main problem with are group is travel. Donesk will be a bitch as will belgrade

  3. Josh, after the group stages it's a free for all draw, with the exception no team can draw a team from the same country.

    Pleased with the group, as a previous commenter has stated the travelling is the problem. Still least we get to give Eduardo a proper send off.
