Cesc Fabregas: I just want to look forward now

Cesc Fabregas used part of his programme notes on Saturday to tell all Gooners he was only thinking about the future following his summer long transfer saga.

Our captain, writing for the first time since the end of last season directly to supporters, didn't name Barcelona or add anything to the statement he made on August 6.

After taking about his World Cup experience he said:
"I don't want to discuss anything else from the summer.
"I made a statement saying I'm concentrating on the season ahead for Arsenal and I just want to look forward now."
I'm told that he's a man acting like he doesn't want to be at the club but that he continues to be professional.

He had his heart set on returning to Spain but when Barcelona put David Villa ahead of him in their list of targets, Fabregas knew they didn't have the money to pull the deal off this summer.

I'm glad he stayed. We are so much better with him and the pain of all the summer speculation will be worth it when he picks up a trophy at the end of the season.

  1. I'm concerned about his attitude too. Saw some troubling signs on Saturday, for example, he was the only player who didn't get excited when we scored the 6th goal on Sat. I hope he proves me wrong though.
