A goalkeeping circle, international watch, Senderos, Aliadiere and Mo the Gooner

Morning Gooners.

The Arsenal players on international duty will be heading back to London Colney, if they aren't already back. I've posted a brief round up of who did what and where. We can only hope that all 11 return injury free and are available for the Anfield game on Sunday.

It appears the saga involving Mark Schwarzer isn't dead as it was yesterday when Fulham announced it knew nothing about goalkeeper handing in a transfer request.

This morning's Daily Mail says the Australian will fly back from his international friendly in Slovenia to speak with Fulham manager  Mark Hughes and chief executive Alistair Mackintosh to discuss his future.

It appears Schwarzer submitted a transfer request via email this week because he wants to move to Arsenal.

However Fulham can't find it on their e-mail server.

Now he's said to be arranging a meeting with Fulham today, in order that he can leave.

This could appear to tie in, perhaps too nicely, with a story in the Daily Mirror.

It says Aston Villa have enquired about Manuel Almunia's availability. The theory goes, Almunia to Villa, Brad Friedel to Fulham and Schwarzer to Arsenal.

You see, it does work. Like a circle.

A bit too pie in the sky for my liking. Although anything is possible in football.... if the money's right.

Further to the international stuff going on, there is a nice piece by Richard Williams in The Guardian about Theo Walcott.

And more on the France game in The Sun. Interesting stat courtesy of OptaJean: Samir Nasri completed the most passes (69) and created the most chances (7) for France against Norway.
It just goes to prove what an excellent start to the season he's having.

I'm afraid I'm a bit late with this news, but I wanted to wish Philippe Senderos the best with his recovery from an Achilles tendon injury he picked up in training preparing for Switzerland's friendly with Austria. He could be out of action for around six months according to The Sun.

A bit of transfer activity involving a former Gunner.

Free agent Jeremie Aliadiere is having a trial with West Ham after leaving Middlesbrough.

And finally, Gooner Mo Farah, the European 5,000 and 10,000 metres champion, has been invited to walk around the Grove by the club.
Well done Arsenal for the invitation. I look forward to giving Mo a huge cheer.

You'll find me on Twitter, chatting Arsenal throughout the day. To receive the blog everyday you can subscribe via e-mail or take the RSS feed to your favourite reader.
