Sébastien Squillaci returns to Sevilla

Well I'm afraid I have some bad news for you Gooners.

Sébastien Squillaci has returned to Sevilla. The good news is he will return to London on Sunday.

I don't have a reason for his return to Spain but I would imagine it is to tie up loose end before he moves to England. I would have thought he would have only brought an overnight bag with him when he came to London Colney on Monday for his medical. Therefore he would need to return to pick up some of his possessions before his return to London.

So that is probably why we are yet to hear from the club officially on the completion of his signing.

There is now no chance that the French defender will be involved against Blackburn on Saturday and Arsene Wenger will chose between Laurent Koscielny, Alex Song and Johan Djourou to partner Thomas Vermaelen in defence.

The manager will no doubt be asked about the deal at his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Ewood Park tomorrow.

As I said yesterday, when Squillaci does eventually sign, he will wear the number 18 shirt.

  2. Huhh it was not very good to read the first two sentences, mate, but I'm trying to relax a bit.
So he won't be included in the squad against Blackburn, but I think, it was expected, he must train a bit with his brand-new mates.
But I hope, the deal will be announced before the end of the week, what do you think?

  5. Say we are champions league say we are champions league. The mighty spurs are coming to get you goons.

  6. Sorry Stoney, it is linguistically egregious to have the two words 'mighty' and 'spurs' in the same sentence when relating to each other.

  10. Mighty Spurs is not only a misnomer it is also the best oxymoron I have heard all year. All this adulation after they overcame young boys from behind, but spurs fans have been at that for years!
