Denilson: Arsenal can still win the league

A further update for you, something I missed in my earlier blog post

Denilson spoke with reporters on after the Sunderland game and told them Arsenal can still win the league title.

The Brazilian was a second half substitute for Andrey Arshavin in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland after Alex Song was red carded.

The 22-year-old told The Times:
"I still think we can win the Premier League this season.
"We are in a very good position. We have to keep the unbeaten run going as long as we can. It has been a long time since we have won the league, but I believe this season we will win some trophies.
"We have dropped some points here but I am confident we will bounce back. I joined in 2006 and I can understand the fans being impatient, but we have the best manager here who tries not to put us under too much pressure. We all have to show him how much we want it.
"For me Arsenal are the best team. If you look at Barcelona, we play like them and I can see Arsenal winning something this season. We have the players and we have the touch. Chelsea have very strong players but they are older. You cannot just expect to win at Sunderland, this was just one game and we are still in a good position."
I hate all this doom and gloom after we drop points. We haven't lost a game yet and although three points were within our grasp on Saturday, an unfortunate turn of events meant we missed out.

Denilson is right. We're still in the title race. Nothing is won in September and it is important that we keep our unbeaten run going. However it is also important we don't drop silly points and learn from our mistakes.

I just hope all our players are singing and thinking in the same way. We need to have a winning mentality.
