Aaron Ramsey to leave on loan? Robin Van Persie on the bench today?

Morning Gooners.

On to matters football.

This morning's Sunday Mirror predict that Robin Van Persie will be a surprise face on the Arsenal bench later. They say he's come through one full training session and that's convinced Arsene Wenger he's ready for a start against Newcastle.

While I'd be surprised if he does appear on the bench against Newcastle, it will be a happy surprise.

I'm not sure that it's wise to expect too much from Van Persie too soon. However if there is something that Wenger has seen that he thinks we are lacking, then moving the Dutchman on to the bench is a good move.

It could be that Wenger wants to reintegrate into the first team squad. But making space on the substitutes bench could be an unwise move.

Anyway, it's all speculation until Wenger announces his squad later.

The writer of the piece Steve Stammers has some very good Arsenal contacts. So I would be surprised if he's got this one wrong.

Elsewhere,  The People suggest Aaron Ramsey could leave the club on loan to regain some first team experience in January.

Ramsey was due to take part in training on Friday but it is expected that Arsene Wenger will take it slowly with the 19-year-old.

A loan move, considering the midfield stockpile we have at the moment, would probably be a wise move.

The two clubs named by the newspapers who would be taking the midfielder on loan are Cardiff and Fulham.

A preview of the game today will follow.
