Fabregas out of Ukraine trip - Denilson, Arshavin and Song face tests

Cesc Fabregas will not travel to the Ukraine today to face Shakhtar Donetsk, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

The Arsenal skipper will not be risked after tweaking his hamstring in the Gunners win over West Ham, as revealed on this blog on Saturday.

The manager said:

"He has a good chance to play on Sunday but tomorrow night is too risky.

"He has no real strain, just a bit of pain. I don't know what it's down to but we cannot take a gamble as he has had injuries before. There's still a bit of reluctance to push it 100%."
Wenger told journalists at his pre-match press conference he will put Denilson, Andrey Arshavin and Alex Song through late fitness tests to determine whether they travel with the squad later.

Song left the Grove on Saturday with heavy strapping to his leg, following a shin injury.

Wenger addeed:
"Alex Song has a problem with his calf which we will assess today, he has a chance not to travel.

"Arshavin has a problem and we might leave him at home and Denilson has a groin problem.

"The one that is definitely out is Fabregas, the three others will be assessed later."
