Jack Wilshere in the Arsenal squad to face Tottenham

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere has passed a fitness test and is included in the Arsenal squad to face Tottenham in the north London derby.

The midfielder was place in the squad was a doubt after he pulled out of England's international friendly on Tuesday morning.

The Arsenal manager told his Friday lunchtime media briefing the 18-year-old would be fighting for a place in his starting line up for the game at Ashburton Grove tomorrow.

Wenger said goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has returned to training but was not picked in his matchday squad.

Abou Diaby and Thomas Vermaelen remain out.
