Arsenal make a signing - Snow joke for Gooners - Carvalho rubbish

Morning Gooners.

So yesterday's match with Stoke was called off because of the snow. Very disappointing it has to be said. I know the club has a duty of care over its fans but making the decision three hours before kick off is a bit of a joke, in bad humour, considering lots of fans have to travel from outside London to get to the ground.

However I suppose it could have been worse. To get to the ground and it be called off an hour before kick off or five minutes prior to kick off or even during the match. That would have been worse.

Being outside of London for the weekend, I left my journey into the capital until the last available train to get me there on time. But even then the decision came too late for me not to have wasted money on a train fare.

Anyway, it's one of those things.

I just hope that the snow will clear in time so that Festive Members Day can go ahead at the Grove on Tuesday. I know lots of Gooners in London for Christmas are planning on attending. So it would be awful if that were to be cancelled as well.

To bring some good Christmas cheer after the announcement the game had been called off, the club said they had officially signed Japanese forward Ryo Miyaichi.

The 18-year-old impressed Arsenal with good performances at the under-17 World Cup followed by a successful trial.

Arsene Wenger said:
"I am delighted Ryo will be joining us in the New Year.
"He trialled with us in the summer and has raw ability which has attracted many clubs around the world.
"I look forward to helping him fulfil his potential here at Arsenal."

Elsewhere there is speculation that Cesc Fabregas and Fernando Torres will join Barcelona next summer in the Sunday Mirror.

That's too far in the future to even consider writing about. At the moment Fabregas is our player on a long term contract. And he's still got a major part in our season to play.

There is also some rubbish in the Daily Star Sunday which has been recycled from Sport.co.uk  suggesting we were interested in signing Ricardo Carvalho.

From the information I was given about who we were interested in central defensive wise, Carvalho was never mentioned. And you'd think that if we were after a player who plays for one of our fiercest rivals, that might have leaked sooner than three months after the transfer window closed.
