Wenger: Aaron Ramsey won't play for Arsenal before February

Arsene Wenger has revealed Wales international and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey won't be fit enough to play for his first team until February.

Ramsey, who turned 20 on Boxing Day, has spent the last five weeks with Nottingham Forest on loan in the Championship.

During his time with Billy Davies' side, Ramsey has made three appearances - one start and two as a substitute. But the bad weather has effected Ramsey's time away from Arsenal as two of the games he could have been involved in were postponed due to the bad weather.

At his press conference earlier, Wenger said he expected Ramsey to return to north London after Forest had played Barnsley tomorrow  and would not consider extending the midfielder's loan because of an injury to Abou Diaby.

Wenger said:
"I am not tempted to do it [extend his loan]. If Abou Diaby was not injured I would certainly have considered it but not now.
"Aaron is not completely ready yet [for the Premier League] but he has been practising every day with the group for two months. I hope that when he comes back he should be ready in February."
