£10m Hungarian international linked - Oxlade-Chamberlain a done deal?

Morning Gooners,

It certainly makes the weekend more perfect when the Arsenal win and three goals and a clean sheet make that result at West Ham last night all the more sweeter.

There are a few bits and bobs going down this morning.

I'll start with a story in The People which links us with a move for PSV Eindhoven winger Balazs Dzsudzsak.

The 24-year-old is rated at £10m and is also a Hungarian international. I''ve never heard of him, so it's probably a goer.

Whilst in the same piece, the price for Southampton winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has now reached £10 million.

It seems you just have to let a few days go past and a few million are added to his transfer value.

But wait a minute and turn to the Daily Star Sunday and they report the deal is done on Oxlade-Chamberlain.

They report we've agreed to pay the south coast club £5 million up front with a further £5 million to follow depending on how he gets on with us.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if we do sign an attacker before a defender. It just seems Arsene likes to do things with a different priority to how us supporters would.

It's an interesting deal if it were done. It means we'd have signed three wingers/attackers in the January window having already completed deals for Wellington Silva, Ryo Miyaichi and now possibly Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And looking towards our defence, The Sunday Mirror say Arsene Wenger will decide between Gary Cahill and Christopher Samba - yes, Christopher Samba! - this week before making an offer for one of them.

Now Cahill I can understand. We've been interested in him since the summer or quite possibly before that.

However Samba??? I don't get that one. We know he is unsettled at Blackburn Rovers, but him wanting out at Rovers and us needing a central defender does not equal a transfer for Samba to the Grove.

If the manager had wanted Samba why didn't he go out in the summer and make Blackburn an offer?

Anyway, I can't see that deal happening.

Cahill however has been on the slow back burner. The Sunday Mirror suggest a fee of £15 million would be quite acceptable to the manager. However the Mail on Sunday say the club aren't prepared to pay more than £8 million.

The MOS also slot in a line about Werder Bremen's Per Mertersacker.

In the News of the World, we're linked with Paris St Germain defender Mamadou Sakho, 20, who is also interesting Barcelona. A £10m price tag is on the Frenchman's head.

Elsewhere, the Sunday Mirror report we're looking to do a deal with a car manufacture to add them to our list of sponsors and suppliers. It seems as though any one of Toyota, Audi and Renault could be interested.

And finally in the Daily Star Sunday, Patrick Vieira is linked with a return to the club in a coaching role.

I've seen the Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona stuff but I'm going to ignore it unless there is a major development before the summer.
