Are Eboue, Squillaci and Denilson fit to wear the shirt? TDD latest

Morning Gooners.

Well I wanted incident in yesterday's game but seeing Samir Nasri hobble off with a hamstring injury, having a Sebastien Squillaci sent off and having to scrap through to the fifth round with a late Cesc Fabregas penalty was not exactly the kind of incident I had been hoping for. I will be more careful in what I wish for in future.

I could attempt to analyses the game but I don't think there is much point. I don't think we'll see a performance that bad again this season from this Arsenal team.... I hope we don't! We were poor in every department. Four players can hold their heads high. Nicklas Bendtner, Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song and, I never thought I'd write this, Manuel Almunia.

I thought - although going through a bad run of form - Andrey Arshavin looked bright in parts and I'm hoping we're coming out of the tunnel and seeing him produce better performances of late.

There are players who's performances I feel indifferent about: Kieran Gibbs, Laurent Koscielny, Abou Diaby, Samir Nasri / Tomas Rosicky and Marouane Chamakh.

And then there are the players who I'm starting to question their commitment and worthiness in this Arsenal team: Emmanuel Eboue, Sebastien Squillaci and Denilson.

I know there has to be one or two players fans in the ground have to love to hate and I'm not one to jump on a bandwagon. I prefer to support rather than shout at our own players. But those three really need to up their games. What I saw yesterday was not good enough.

I hope this team can learn from that performance and go forward. We have too many important games ahead to not be 100% focused. Fighting on four fronts may be taking its toll. But we cannot underestimate any opposition, no matter which league they play in.

So I hope for a better performance in the next round against Leyton Orient.

Away from the game, it's transfer deadline day. Expect the internet to go wild with speculation as Sky Sports News goes into meltdown.

There will be little going on at Arsenal as I understand it. Only players leaving on loan to get first team experience as the manger gains some loan fees and takes some players wages off the club's books for four months.

So don't believe any of these sites which say Arsenal are about to sign X or Y. Have faith in the newspapers and broadcasters who have their own staff working on stories rather than sites who rip that content off.

Personally I would be surprised if the manager did a deal for anyone. Bit I would like to be surprised none the less.

The one deal we know Wenger has been working on is to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Southampton. Will it get done today? Possibly. But the south coast club hold all the cards. If an agreement is reached, don't expect to see him in Arsenal colours until next season.

He wants to come to Arsenal. But he also wants to see out the season with Southampton. More on that as and when it happens.

Enjoy your day but please don't expect us to make a signing. If we do, it will be a nice surprise!
