Arsenal v Everton: Player ratings

Arsenal v Everton
Premier League
At Ashburton Grove

Wojciech Szczesny - Didn't look as composed as in recent performances. Was probably due a wobble. We need him to be consistent with Fabianski out and Almunia out of favour. Distribution poor during periods. Although had very little to do in the second half. - 6

Bacray Sagna - Don't think he was really troubled during the game. Gave us extra impetus going forward when we really needed it. As always, a solid performance. - 6

Johan Djourou - Generally had a good game. Passing sometimes questionable but his calmness under pressure always helps him get  out of tricky situations - 6

Laurent Koscielny - Scored a vital goal to win us the three points and was not at fault for the Everton goal, despite what others say. Seemed to boss the Everton forwards. Always on the front foot. - 7

Gael Clichy - Seemed to get forward more tonight than in recent games. Had one shot which was deflected for a corner and another forward run where he should have shot but rather passed. Generally steady and impressive. - 7

Alex Song - I'm enjoying watching him in the deep lying midfield role now he's allowing the other players around him to attack more. Fought to win the ball back and pass it to our more dynamic players. Went off injured at half time. - 6

Jack Wilshere - Impressive today. Ran his socks off. From defence to attack, he was there for his team mates. Made some important passes to create forward chances. - 6

Theo Walcott - Showed some anger when he was consistently fouled but didn't lost his focus. Bright and busy, switched from wing to centre forward role and had the beating of Distin. - 7

Cesc Fabregas - Stood up for Arsenal when he needed to do so as captain. Was at the heart of all things good in the second half. Playing a deeper role when Wilshere was withdrawn allowed him more time to pick his passes. - 7

Tomas Rosicky - It really isn't happening for the Czech at the moment. Really desperately needs to score to get some sort of confidence back. Was too timid in the first half and is no where near his best. - 5

Robin van Persie - Didn't offer us enough in the first half when our attack was all to predictible. Second half was brighter and Walcott and Fabregas brought him into play more. - 6

Aboe Diaby - Slowed the game down too much for my liking. Always dawdles on the ball when our game requires fast and insightful passing. Needs more games to get back to his best. - 5

Andrey Arshavin - Bright and busy. Was harshly not used from the beginning. Scored the equaliser. Passing was much better than in recent weeks and seems to have found some form. - 8

Nicklas Bendtner - Offered us the different option we needed in our forward line. Pulled the Everton defence around more than van Persie and his physical presence allowed us to create more space in the box. - 7
