Theo Walcott "very unlikely" to face Barcelona - Wenger

Theo Walcott is set to miss Arsenal's Champions League tie through injury, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

The 21-year-old picked up an ankle injury in Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Stoke City at the Grove on Wednesday.

The attacker was stretchered off after a challenge by Dean Whitehead.

It was hoped that the England international would be available to play against the Spanish champions on March 8. However Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has all but ruled Walcott out.

At his lunchtime media briefing, Wenger said it was "very unlikely" Walcott would be able to return for the game at the Camp Nou.

The Arsenal manager said he would be "pleasantly surprised" if Walcott was able to play.
