Interwoe for Bendtner - Cahill linked - New Nike kit pictures leaked

Morning Gooners.

Well it had to happen and surprisingly it took as long as three days. Yes, you guessed it - an Arsenal player injured on international duty.

It was Nicklas Bendtner - in Copenhagen - running alone - when he somehow conspired to injure his ankle. Quite how someone can injure himself in such a fashion is beyond me.

How long he'll be out - if he's even that seriously injured - is yet to be determined. But there was an ice pack involved, so that could mean anything.

We'll have to wait and see if he's back in training today or plays on Saturday before reading too much into it.

One player who is confined to London Colney is Cesc Fabregas.

He's been busy with fitness and rehabilitation work whilst many other players have been flying off to exotic places.

Last night he raffled off two seats in his box at the Grove to one of his lucky twitter followers. They get two seats in it for the Blackburn game on April 2, a match the captain will be hoping to feature in.

Speaking last night, Fabregas said:
"My injury is getting better.
"I started running on Monday and everything is getting better. I needed time, because it has been a weird season for me with injuries and I just want to make it right.
"I want to come back stronger than ever and hopefully fitter than ever so it wont happen again.
"Hopefully you will see me play against Blackburn if I am fit."
Congratulations to the winner. That was certainly a money can't buy prize and a day you'll never forget.

Ahead of the Wales v England game on Saturday, Aaron Ramsey has spoken to the media. There is obviously an obsession of questions about him and Jack Wilshere, with their being a 12 month age difference and them both playing for Arsenal.

Ramsey was asked if he looked at Wilshere playing for Arsenal and  "what if" the injury hadn't happened, would he be in Wilshere's place?

He said:
"Have I thought about the fact that it could be me out there? Absolutely. I thought before my injury I was just starting to kick on. I started six or seven games on the bounce and I felt like I was going to stake a claim for a place in the first XI for Arsenal, but these things happen.
"I've got the rest of the season to show everyone what I'm capable of. I want to prove to people that you can come back from injuries like the one I had and still be the same player."
He goes on to talk about the progress Wilshere has made and I'm sure he does feel slightly jealous that Jack has been able to play in some huge games for Arsenal this season.

It was excellent to see Ramsey's development last season. He was going places quickly and the spell before his injury showed us all what an exciting player he'll be. I have no doubt he'll come back into the side and perform to the standard he was showing he'll reach prior to the injury. I don't think there will be the same problems as when Eduardo was injured.

I think because of the Welshman's reemergence from the sidelines, the manager will have some interesting decisions to make come the summer with regards to who he'll keep and who he'll let go.

There is more transfer speculation around this morning.

The Daily Mail say we're still after Gary Cahill and Bayern Munich are interested as well. A price of £18 million is quoted. But considering he's nearing the end of his contract, I doubt if he were to leave the price wouldn't be that high.

The Daily Mirror say we're one of the clubs interested in signing 19-year-old right back Carl Jenkinson from Charlton, who will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Tottenham are the latest club to scout Southampton's Alex Oxlade Chamberlain according to the Daily Mail - a player who we are very interested in.

Finally for today, can I point you in the direction of Arsenal Brazil who have some pictures of what looks to me like the training shirt and other associated merchandise which could be heading our way next season.
