Van Persie subbed at half time after knee knock - internationals roundup


Robin van Persie was substituted at half time after putting Holland ahead in their Group E qualifying game for Euro 2012 against Hungary.

Van Persie was fouled by Vilmos Vanczak three minutes before half time and took a knock to his knee. 

It is not yet known how serious his injury is or whether his subsitution was just precautionary.

Tomas Rosicky provided a third minute assist for Milan Baros at the Czech Republic beat Liechtenstein 2-0 in Group I of the Euro 2012 qualifying matches.

Rosicky's left-wing cross was slotted home by Baros in the Sparta Stadium, Czech Republic.

Six minutes from time the Arsenal man was replaced by Jan Polak.

Andrey Arshavin was one of three Russian players to play the whole 90 minutes in Doha as Russia drew 1-1 with Qatar.

The Russian captain didn't have a great game according to reports but he did set up Roman Pavlyuchenko for their teams only goal.

Jack Wilshere played 69 minutes in England's 1-1 draw with Ghana.

The Arsenal man had a decent game in the middle of the park.


Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy started for France in their international friendly at the Stade de France with Croatia.

Nasri played 88 minutes and Clichy the whole 90 as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Bacray Sagna and Laurent Koscielny were unused substitutes.

Nicklas Bendtner played 76 minutes in Denmark's 2-1 victory against Slovakia. The Arsenal striker was involved in his team's first goal as Dennis Rommedahl's cross for Bendtner was intercepted by Kornel Salata who turned the ball pasted his goalkeeper Marion Kello for an own goal.
