Arsenal's Jack Wilshere NOT included in England under-21 European Championship squad

According to the Sunday Mirror, Jack Wilshere will not be included in Stuart Pearce's squad to play in the under-21 European Championships this summer.

The news was broken by Steve Stammers who has strong links with Arsenal.

If true it will be a massive victory for Arsene Wenger and all Gooners who believe Wilshere needs a summer of rest.

Personnally I've never understood why a full England international needs to play for the under-21 side once he's made  the step up to the senior squad.

Wilshere has played 57 games for club and country this season - his break through year in the Premier League.

He has looked tired and off the pace in recent weeks and I'm glad that someone at the Football Association has finally seen sense.
