Arsene Wenger must decide over Frimpong or Benayoun for Dortmund test

Arsene Wenger has to decide whether to opt for experience or youth when selecting his staring 11 for tonight's opening Champions League tie.

Without either Aaron Ramsey or Tomas Rosicky, the Arsenal manager has the option of playing new signing Yossi Benayoun or rookie Emmanuel Frimpong in his midfield.

I expect the manager to be cautious in his selection, preferring Frimpong to the Israel international, to offer his team defensive stability against a German team known for their attacking ability.

With either Frimpong playing alongside Song either can act as the forward pivot.

Wenger may task either of his two more defensive minded midfielders to man mark the influential Mario Götze, a player the Frenchman has already pin pointed as a danger man in the Dortmund side.

Playing Benayoun could allow the Gunners more attacking fluidity, but with Arsenal wanting to get off to a good start in Group F, Wenger may decide to curb his attacking instinct.

I expect the Arsenal to line up:

Sagna - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Gibbs

Frimpong - Song

Gervinho - Arteta - Arshavin

van Persie

Subs: Fabianski, Santos, Djourou, Benayoun, Walcott, Young Park, Chamakh

I'll post the official line up once it's announced. Then from 7.30pm join us for live text commentary of Borussia Dortmund v Arsenal. Set a reminder for yourself below.
