Gibbs backs Wenger -Midfielder reveals Gunners talks -Peruvian utility man scouted

Morning Gooners.

Very short post today as real life gets in the way of blogging.

Kieran Gibbs has spoken of our win on Tuesday night in The Guardian. He's spoken of the squad creating an us against the world attitude in the dressing room which wouldn't be a bad thing in my opinion.

In the Daily Mirror, Alan Curbishley talks about Ivan Gazidis being "naive" for publically backing Wenger. If he didn't back the manager, that would be a bigger story.

People calling for Wenger's head should be careful for what they wish for in my opinion. Remember that Charlton have sunk without trace since Curbishley left, whilst Wenger has brought 14 years of Champions League football to the club - something unrivalled by virtually all other managers.

Joey Barton has said his people were talking to our people about him joining the Arsenal. However he believes the move broke down because of the Gervinho incident at St James Park.

The Daily Mail say Arsene Wenger won't meet shareholders for their annual question and answer session. Not a bad decision in my eyes. He's only going to face a lot of unpleasant questions.

We're after Fiorentina’s Juan Manuel Vargas according to the Daily Mirror

And finally, read our analysis of Francis Coquelin's performance in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night.
