Fabrice Muamba's making progress -Yann M’Vila watched again -Tunisian international defender scouted

Morning Gooners.

I'm sorry I've not been around for the past few days, I've just not felt the need to blog when there is very little Arsenal news about and one of our former players remains in hospital following his heart attack on the White Heart Lane pitch.

I wasn't watching the game but a friend called me to tell me what had happened. I was in shock and couldn't speak. I couldn't believe a fit and healthy professional athlete could just collapse like that.

I've since followed every update about Fabrice Muamba and am happy to read there are positive signs that he's improving. Of course there is a long way to go yet but it seems that the medical attention he's received, first on the pitch at White Hart Lane and since at the London Chest Hospital, has been first class.

It's been heart warming to read about a young man who has fought every step of the way to become a professional footballer. The first hand accounts of Arsene Wenger, Steve Bould and Liam Brady show that Muamba really is one of the game's nice guys.

I'm sure like every genuine football fan, I can't wait to see Muamba out of hospital and at home with his family.

As for real Arsenal news there appears to be still very little going on despite the fact we have a must win game tomorrow. Rightly the thoughts of those at the club have been with Muamba and his family but I'm sure as he continues to make progress, we'll switch our attention to tomorrow night's tricky tie at Goodison Park.

Everton have won four, drawn one and lost one in their last six games at home. While we have won three, drawn one and lost two in our last six games away from the Grove. However we are the league's form team with five wins in our last live games, coming from behind in our last four to win the game.

There is no team news as yet. Abou Diaby, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin, Per Mertesacker, Sebastien Squillaci and Emmanuel Frimpong won't be involved. Diaby is set to have a run out with the reserves against Liverpool today however.

I would imagine given the fact we've had nine days to rest up the manager will field the same team who beat Newcastle. Perhaps the only changes could see the involvement of Aaron Ramsey and Gervinho for Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain if the manager wanted to freshen things up. However I can't see that happening.

Elsewhere there are a couple of transfer rumours doing the rounds. The Daily Express report we watch Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila against Toulouse on Sunday ahead of making a bid for him in the Summer.

Meanwhile The Sun say Arsenal scouts were running the rule over Toulouse centre-back Aymen Abdennour during the same game. The 22-year-old Tunisian international is said to be worth £5million and has been on Wenger's radar for the past six months according to the paper.

Hopefully there will be more positive news about Fabrice Muamba later and some team news for tomorrow, but that's your lot for today.
