Theo saves England -Scouser steals from AOC - Barca want Bendtner? -Giroud boost

Morning Gooners.

There's a way to announce yourself to an international tournament and Theo Walcott certainly did just that when he came on for Roy Hodgson's England last night.

With Sweden leading 2-1, the Arsenal man entered the fray and put in a perfect performance. He scored with his only shot on target, completed all five of his passes, had an assist for Danny Welbeck's fluke goal (he didn't mean it - he was trying to trap the ball but couldn't do it and the ball went through his legs) and cleared his own defensive lines with a header.

And to think, that was his first appearance on a pitch of an international tournament - despite being in the England squad for the last six years.

I have certainly been one of Theo's critics. But fair play to the man. I doff my cap to a job well done.

As for the other Arsenal player involved for England, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, he was robbed of a chance of his first international goal by that scouser Steven Gerrard. What a moment that would have been if The Ox had scored England's fourth.

Anyway it just shows how prolific Arsenal are at the Euros. We've scored more goals than any other club.

Tonight's crunch game is between Tomas Rosicky's Czech Republic and Wojciech Szczesny's Poland. Both could be missing however the midfielder through injury and the goalkeeper through being dropped.

Elsewhere, Barcelona could be after Nicklas Bendtner. Not the Barcelona but their Premier League equivalents Swansea who have just appointed Michael Laudrup. The Daily Mirror has the story.

Meanwhile it seems that everyone knows Arsene has got his man - Olivier Giroud - because they are all pulling out of the race to sign him. Borussia Monchengladbach were interested but have now conceded defeat.

And finally, for some extra reading there is a good piece in the Daily Mail about our new signing Lukas Podolski.

That's it for today. Short and sweet. More tomorrow.
