Vermaelen's ankle injury -Captain hails Bould's influence -Russian superstar leaving? -Fatty Bendtner!

Morning Gooners.

Well it's a bit of a hotchpotch of news this morning.

We'll start with Thomas Vermaelen who has allayed any fears of injury after he was spotted training on international duty with strapping around his ankle.

He's told reporters that it's just a knock he picked up last week and that he should be fit to play for Belgium in their game with Wales. Which is certainly good to hear after hobbling off against Liverpool on Sunday.

While in front of the media he's spoken about Steve Bould's influence on the team.

He said:

"He is our assistant now and has a lot of experience at a high level with Arsenal.
"We work a lot on our defensive play and you can see that with our three clean sheets."

And long may those clean sheets continue. Meanwhile the Arsenal captain has been teasing team mate and Wales captain Aaron Ramsey about the quality of the Belgium squad. Always good to have some light hearted banter going on.

Elsewhere, Andrey Arshavin could leave the club today if he can secure a move to one of three clubs who are interested in him in Russia.

He's been interesting the likes of former club Zenit St Petersburg, along with Dynamo Moscow and CSKA Moscow according to the Daily Mirror.

I guess if the player isn't part of Arsene Wenger's plans there is no point him sitting on the sidelines not getting a game, while picking up £80k a week.

And finally Juventus have put Nicklas Bendtner on a strict diet after his move to Turin because he's overweight.

That's it for today. More tomorrow.
