£20m deal to be announced as Wenger admits interest in Zaha

Morning Gooners.

Well it's not exactly the record breaking transfer that had everyone excited yesterday, but the deal to keep Theo Walcott at Arsenal is set to be announced over the coming hours/days.

Arsene Wenger has said he was 99% confident the deal would be sealed to keep Theo until the end of the 2016 season.

If Theo signs a £100,000 a week deal, with a £3.5m signing on payment, the deal gives him a package worth £20m+. I'm glad it's finally being sorted. It's played out for far too long.

Elsewhere, the manager all but has ruled out a move for Edison Cavani, who he says would be too expensive in January but who I think is exactly the type of player we need at the club.

However there is certainly interest in Wilfried Zaha. But we face stiff competition from Manchester United for the 20-year-old.

A short and sweet post for today. Back with more tomorrow.
