Is Wilshere out for the season? -Rosicky to inspire -Gibbs to return

Morning Gooners

We wake today to the news that Jack Wilshere is more than likely to miss tomorrow night's game after suffering an ankle injury, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Clearly an injury to Jack is the last thing we need. There are unconfirmed rumours that he's out for the remainder of the season. We'll get an injury update from the manager at his press conference later.

With nine league games to go, if there is any chance Jack can play in any of them, there would be no point risking him in tomorrow's game if there was a chance of his future involvement.

According to the reports the midfielder hasn't been training and isn't even in the country, so playing against Bayern is unlikely.

If there was ever a time we needed a player to step up it's now. Tomas Rosicky has been out for the majority of the season but is the player who's more than capable of filling the void left by Jack. If ever we needed him to stay fit for ten games it's now.

The manager should be able to call upon Kieran Gibbs at left back following his return from injury. I'd expect the 23-year-old to come straight back into the team as Nacho Monreal is cup tied.

Elsewhere, Mikel Arteta has spoken to the Daily Mirror about our season so far. Makes for an interesting read.

That's it for this morning. I'm heading to Germany today, so blog updates over the next 72 hours might be limited.
