Seven youngsters sign-on for tour -Fabregas weighing-up return -Williams on? -Cesar off?

Morning Gooners

After a week of pre-season training at London Colney, the first team squad today depart on their pre-season tour. Arsene Wenger has chosen the moment to give seven players not currently in his squad the chance to shine and it will be interesting to see how Chuba Akpom, Kristoffer Olsson, Ignasi Miquel, Serge Gnabry, Chuks Aneke, Thomas Eisfeld, Gedion Zelalem do playing with the senior players.

This summer's only signing so far Yaya Sanogo will not be making the trip as he is on international duty. Neither will our two Spain internationals Santi Carzorla and Nacho Monreal as they recover from the Confederations Cup.

It is their international team mate Cesc Fabregas who is making the headlines this today as the Daily Mail report that Arsene Wenger still hopes the 26-year-old will leave the Nou Camp this summer.

Cesc has a big decision to make. Spend another year with his boyhood club in and out of the team and not certain to start in all the big games or come back to his real home in London where he will be worshipped. He'll also have a better chance to watch his baby daughter grow up in her first year.

The buyback clause in our deal with the Catalan club is well documented. £25m first refusal.

I wonder if Arsene Wenger is waiting on Fabregas' decision before allocating the money he's set aside for him elsewhere.

While the squad leave the UK with just two senior central defenders in its ranks, the manager is deciding whether to go back to Swansea City and offer them the £10m they want for their captain Ashley Williams, according to the  Daily Mail.

It's clear we need central defensive cover. At the moment it is  highly possible that Thomas Vermaelen will miss the start of the season and two players  covering that position would leave us in a dangerous position.

Meanwhile the Daily Star report Arsene Wenger has changed his mind on signing 33-year-old Brazil keeper Julio Cesar from QPR. How true that is remains to be seen.

That's it for today. Back with more tomorrow.
