Another day rumbles on as another player leaves. This time it's goalkeeper Vito Mannone who has joined Sunderland for £2m on a two year contract.
But the most interesting story of the day comes from The Sun who report that William Hill have stopped taken bets on Liverpool's Luis Suarez joining Arsenal this summer.
I've long admired Suarez as a player. He should have won player of the year last season. But his extra curricular activities were always going to sway people away from voting from him. He's a wonderfully gifted player but it's all the baggage that comes with him that would put me off us signing the striker.
It's clear with all the players we've been linked with that Arsene Wenger is keen to add a top class forward to our ranks, but I can't see us splashing out £25m on Suarez. He's more than likely to move aboard. One of his main gripes was the English media and that won't get any better if he moves from Merseyside to London.
A fantastic player but sadly I think we've missed the boat with him.
Of course one player I'm champing at the bit for us to buy is Gonzalo Higuain.
And it seems - and I know I've been saying this for a while - that a move could finally be completed soon.
The Daily Mail report on an interview Gonzalo Higuain’s father Jorge has given TuttoMercato claiming that Real Madrid have given him permission to speak with Arsenal.
"We do not negotiate with any club without permission of the selling club.
"We have permission [from Madrid] and hopefully we can soon see my son in the Premier League."
It seems the longest set of transfer negotiations are set to be concluded at some point before September 2nd. But hasn't it dragged on?
The price - said to be £22m is agreed. The wages reported to be £130,000 a week are being talked about. So surely we can get this one over the line before the player fly off for the pre-season tour. Can't we?
And finally read why Marouane Fellaini’s goals and versatility would certainly add something to this Arsenal squad.
That's it for today. Back with more tomorrow.
