The Germans are coming! Spectacular Ozil's goal and assist -Striker signing on?

Morning Gooners

That's another international break out of the way and I'm sure I am not the only one who is really looking for to this weekend. I've been looking forward to it ever since Arsenal announced the signing of Mesut Ozil.

And even more so after last night when the club's record signing linked up with his new club team mate Per Mertesacker for Germany and they combined for their country's first goal. Ozil with the corner and Mertesacker volleying home.

Our new signing then went on to convert a second half penalty himself to get his name on the score sheet.

It's good that he's on firing form ahead of our game at Sunderland. I think like most Gooners, Santi Cazorla is in shock that we've actually signed Ozil and the Spain international has been left baffled why Real Madrid would sell the "spectacular" player to us.

Cazorla has also cleared up a rumour from the summer when he was linked with a move to Athletico Madrid. He says that there was never any offer made for him from the Spanish club.

Elsewhere the Daily Mail scream that a injury to Yaya Sanogo has left us with just one fit central striker in Olivier Giroud. Clearly they are forgetting about this man...

Never fear though as the Daily Mirror says we have a plan. A plan to sign a player left without a club after finding himself limited to 13 appearances last season, scoring three goal. Yes, the answer to all our problems (well some of them) is... Ciprian Marica.

Not another free signing Arsene some of you may be thinking. But at the moment that's the only kind of signing we're able to make. And if we need back up to Giroud, we've got a very limited pool of players to pick from now until the January transfer window opens.

And finally our newest re-signing Mathieu Flamini says he's like a fine wine which improves with age. Judging that statement against his performance against Spurs, I'd very much like some more please. Especially if he's going to kick a few of their players up in the air again.
