Mertesacker: It looks like we don’t fancy early kick offs away

Per Mertesacker has joked that Arsenal should apply to the Football Association not to be forced to play any more 12:45 kick offs away from home.

The German international pointed to the Gunners dismal record in the BT Sports broadcast matches after Arsenal failed to win in their last three scheduled for that time against Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Mertesacker said:
"I don’t know why, but it looks like we don’t fancy early kick offs away.
"It looks like we are going to have to apply to the FA to not play at 12.45 away. That would help us a lot.
"We wanted to start very strong and show people we are good enough, but they scored the two very early goals.
"We lost some balls when we tried to keep it desperately. They then caught us on the counter-attack. We tried to avoid that. But we missed it completely."
The Gunners have conceded 17 goals in away matches against their top four rivals in Premier League away games which kicked off at 12:45. In reply, Arsenal have only scored four times.
