Arsenal look like they've missed out on the signing of German centre-half Matthias Ginter.
German newspaper Bild report that Borussia Dortmund have won the race to sign the 20-year-old who has been watched by the Gunners chief scout Steve Rowley on numerous occasions over the last two seasons.
Ginter has been a regular in the relegation threatened Freiburg side, starting in every Bundesliga game this season.
Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the 6'2" defender, who has also played in midfield at times during this campaign.
But it appears that Jurgen Kopp has beaten Wenger and Manchester United manager David Moyes to the signature of the player who was capped for his country for the first time this season.
