Neville pinpoints how Wenger can bring the best out of Ozil

Gary Neville believes Arsene Wenger needs to put a better quality player alongside Mesut Ozil if the German is to shine at Arsenal.

The 25-year-old has had a promising debut season in the Premier League scoring five goals and adding nine assists to his name.

At times it appears the Gunners record signing has struggled to get his game going and many observers believe the lack of players able to make runs behind opposition defences hasn't helped bring out the best attributes of the German international's game.

But Sky Sports pundit Neville believes Wenger needs to recruit players this summer who are on a level with the quality Ozil is at.

Neville told viewers of Sky Sport's Monday Night Football:
"He has got class. It will be interesting to see how Arsenal fans themselves view his first season and he showed some good touches.
"At times you feel he needs that striker to run through more and I know Giroud did run through a couple of times tonight.
"He gets that goal but you feel the more he's got players who run through, the more he'll serve them.
"He has got a touch of class. He's very efficient, uses the ball well in the last third, picks out his team mates really well.
"I think he struggled in that period of the season January/February. Giroud lost his form, Ramsey got injured, Walcott got injured. It was a problem for him."
He added:
"He's got it in him to improve. I think the quality of the player which is surrounding him... You look at Luiz Suarez by the way for his first 12 months, even he when Sturidge came lifted his game even more.
"I think these players do need that high level of quality around them. All players do better when they have high quality players around them.
"I think he'll be ok with his first season but a lot rests on him in the next few weeks. He's got to win Arsenal that trophy."
