Ramsey produces goal and assist in first league start in 116 days

Aaron Ramsey celebrated his first league start in 16 weeks with a fantastic performance and admitted: "It's important for us to come here and get the win."

The midfielder started in last weekend's FA Cup semi final after being out with a thigh injury picked up on Boxing Day. Arsene Wenger used the Welshman only as a substitute in Tuesday night's win over West Ham United but today it was obvious that the 22-year-old was quickly getting back to his best form.

Ramsey scored the opener himself after a quick passing move and then set up Lukas Podolski for the Gunners second of the game. It was the 23-year-old's shot which Hull City goalkeeper Steve Harper blocked with his feet that saw Podolski score his second from.

And the Wales international said post match:
"It's important for us to come here and get the win, to keep our position in the league.
"We have beaten Hull twice but are not going to take them lightly.
"They are a well organised team, get crosses in and we can't rely on our previous performances against them."
The Gunners face the Tigers in next months FA Cup final on May 17.
