Arsene Wenger insists he has the foundations to build a side which is capable of winning the league.
Arsenal have been hit by injuries to key players during this season and disappointing results have seen them slip from the top spot to fourth in the league table.
But the Frenchman believes it is not all doom and gloom around the club following what had been such a promising campaign.
The Gunners boss "We have the basics.
"What is important for us is we have our players back and available.
"Our main task will be to keep the team together and think 'where did we go wrong?' because there's a lot of positives in our season as well.
"We have been the league leader 17 times and we dropped off when we lost our players at the important moment of the season, that is what we don't want to repeat."This season Wenger has extended the contracts of key players like Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky, Santi Cazorla and Per Mertesacker.
That followed on from the deals which were agreed last season that tied Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson to the club for the long term.
